Pets are the latest casualties of a bad economy.

As more people are forced out of their homes due to foreclosures, family pets are being left to fend for themselves. Animal control officer says pets are latest casualties of the sagging economy.  Many pet shelters are full and often turn away animals, so maybe owner feel their only option is to let the pet go on the street.  The good news is that more than half of american pet owners surveyed recently say their pets are essentially members of their family -- no different than any other member of the household.

We need to find ways to help these pets as they have no blame for the sagging ecomomy - support your local shelter in this time of greatest need.
